Mail Myself to You: Film Screening & Art Workshop

On Thursday, July 2nd at 5:30 pm join filmmaker Imogen Pranger for a screening of her short documentary, Mail Myself to You, followed by a hands-on mail art workshop at the Center on Main.  Create your own collaged postcard to send to a friend or loved one! (Supplies AND stamps provided!)

This event is a collaboration between the Center on Main and the David M. Hunt Library's Video Wall.

Mail Myself to You (2024) explores the legacy and future of the correspondence art movement through stop-motion animation and 16mm direct cinema. The film focuses on the Oberlin College Mail Art Collection, asking how an archive can best preserve the memory of art that resists convention.  The film has been screened in numerous film festivals and received a Special Jury Mention at the Athens International Film and Video Festival.

This event is geared towards teens and adults. Younger children are invited to participate with adult supervision.
