Join LARP writer and game runner Olivia Montoya for an afternoon LARP game called In The Hall of the Bandit King on October 10, 2026 from 1 to 4 PM. It is a fantasy murder mystery where all characters are bandits who start with amnesia and have to figure out who they are and who killed the bandit king! In this game, you won’t need to come up with your own character or wear any costumes (unless you want to!)
Registration
This game is FREE but registration is required by October 1. There is space for 12 total players, with a minimum of 5. Participation is first-come first-served in regards to registration. Players will need to fill out a simple survey that will be emailed out after registration. This is to help the facilitator “cast” you in your role for the game. After October 1, registration will remain open for either open spots or a waitlist, but you might be assigned a random character. This is an event aimed at adults, but parents or guardians may bring teens if they are okay with the content involved in the games. Visit this link to register.
About the Facilitator
Olivia Montoya is a life-long resident of Northwest Connecticut. She is a LARP writer and game designer who has organized a weekend-long LARP in Sharon (Children of the Gods, 2024), and has written and run a variety of short theater LARPs for conventions and groups around the Northeast, including Intercon (Warwick, RI), Summer Larpin' (Boxboro, MA), Dice Bubble (Troy, NY), Time Bubble (Troy, NY), A LARP Festival (Boston, MA), and the Greater Boston LARP Society. She has also run games as far afield as Virginia, Minnesota, Illinois and California, and is excited to bring this style of game to her home region.
About Theater LARP

If any of these sound interesting to you, you might like theater LARPs / parlor LARPs, which are what you get if you mash up all of those things! LARP stands for Live Action Roleplaying. In LARP you embody a character and do what you want your character to do and say what you want your character to say. Theater/parlor LARPs don’t use any live combat (so no hitting each other with foam swords).
