Let’s Work Together

We are excited to introduce our new “Creative Community Collaboration Project” and we enthusiastically invite like-minded organizations to partner with us on this endeavor.

We hope to collaborate with a wide berth of local organizations, businesses, and individuals — both art-focused and not. We believe that creativity is a central feature of healthy communities and by working together we can foster a greater sense of engagement and belonging for folks in our region.

Like the idea but not sure how your organization fits in? Let’s have a conversation!

Project Overview

This project is made possible by support from The Foundation for Community Health

The Center on Main is a 501(c)(3) charitable non profit organization located on Main Street in Falls Village, CT. In our view, creativity is a fundamental part of the human experience. Unfortunately, for so many, this innate drive to play, create, and participate has been suppressed. Our mission is to connect our community by providing an inspiring environment for creative expression and exploration. Working alone toward this goal will only get us so far.

That’s where you come in!

Let’s work together to create free/low-cost programming that engages a multi-generational audience, regardless of skill-level. The structure, content, and frequency of each program is intentionally open-ended so that we can develop something that is mission-aligned for both organizations and right-sized to available resources.

All programs will take place at The Center on Main at no cost to the partner organization. Program development will run between now and September 2025, with an event calendar being published at the end of the month and programming running at least once per month thereafter.

Example Program

To help get your mind churning with possible collaborations, we’d like to give you an example. Please view this as a jumping off point instead of a constraint.

A few years ago we partnered with Project SAGE on a program that exemplifies the type of community partnerships we are seeking. Project SAGE is not an arts-based organization; rather they are on a mission to end relationship violence in the Northwest corner and beyond. We hosted a workshop at our location where folks came together to create three large wall hangings for display at Project SAGE’S new facility. The work was mindfully guided by a licensed art therapist, using motifs central to the organization’s work. Thanks to this event, community members got the chance to work together on something meaningful, ultimately creating beautiful work. Project SAGE, on the other hand, was able to teach participants about their organization and walked away with tangible art to decorate their new facility. (Learn more about Project SAGE)
